I think it should be permanently retired. Patti did it perfectly, and it hurts anyone else who tries to sing it correctly. Or they sing it half-assed and it’s awful. Plus it’s the reason Follies had to close, so there’s that too.

Last time I had a problem—expired card that I had very recently refilled—the station agent fixed it up for me herself. So if they can read the thing with their special machines I’ll be okay. My real concern is that the heat might have, like, erased the info on the strip or something :/
