January 2011
Bye all, see you eventually :)
Jan 31st
and see, this is why I need internet at home:
I was planning on staying here until the battery ran out, but one of the lights started flickering slightly (this is not a good thing for a light-sensitive epileptic). I am very high-maintainance, and the outside world frequently falls well short of my requirements :/

joligreenredqueen replied to your post: and on a vaguely related note (are you *sure* you want me back to ranting online?) we all got some increases in followers lately, mostly spammers and pussy porn for no apparent reason. Oh, ugh. Will I have to go weed them out later, or should I just ignore them?

Whoa, weird not-actually-flashback-nostalgia thing
At the bagel shop for the internet, and “Wonderwall” comes on. Jeez, hello high school and the modern rock radio station and my car and choirs and angst and issues and multiple houses… Kind of odd especially as I was getting all nostalgic about my former best friend in college (and all my closest friends in college, almost all of who are gone from my life ‘cause they suck...

who I wrote to last week. Turns out they’d been using the free one randomly in the building as well, so they’re just now getting their own and *thrilled* to have someone share in the bill ;) Woohoo excuse to interact with hot neighbor!

I should have internet by the end of the week
At which point I can spend all my time bugging you people again :)

My feelings: why they matter above yours
redlightpolitics: Everyone is pointing at the late abortion article on Jezebel today (more specifically, the comments in said article), but I cannot really look at that. It is just too upsetting for me because sadly, I know how such people think and the kind of ideas they wish to impose on everyone. However, I HAD to check the clusterfuck under the title “In defense of the White Man” because...

Be proud of me
No, really, I accomplished something! Two weeks ago I decided I should ask my next-door neighbors if I could buy into their wireless network—this morning I actually managed to write the note and stick it in their door (after I knew they’d gone to work)! This is a big deal, because I am utterly, completely, mind-fuckingly neurotic.

@xfafa: That is so bizarre. You would think the pills would give us more control, not less, right? wisearoundtheclock replied to your post: Purrrrrrty snow! Schoene Schnee! Stop referring to Schnee as schön. It’s, uh, grammatically incorrect or something. Seriously? Or are you just feeling mean towards snow? If so, stop it, I’m not confident enough in the language to tell the difference,...

Purrrrrrty snow! Schoene Schnee!
But I *do* have to go to the store today. So either the snow or the wind needs to let up at some point (but at some point other than, like, 3-5, ‘cause I’ll have a student then). Also, I ate the rest of the gingerbread for breakfast. Not very intelligent, given that I ate mostly gingerbread yesterday (dinner was a few carrots and soymilk). I both hate myself for that shit and find it...

Why am I awake?
The point of the sleeping pills was to keep me asleep through the night! Mind, I do like falling asleep within 30 minutes rather than 120, but I don’t like getting so intensely tired at 9:30 on the dot… what am I going to do next time I’m at the opera (2/9/11)? Or next time I go out singing? Or whatever? Blarghhhhhhh. And waking up at 2 every morning is itself a bit obnoxious, I...

@P-I-P
THANK YOU, BUT I FEEL LIKE I’VE BEEN DOING NOTHING BUT MOANING AND GROANING FOR WEEKS. AND I HAVEN’T EVEN GONE INTO MUCH DEPTH ABOUT WHAT THE SLEEPING PILLS ARE DOING TO ME YET. I’M SO OUT OF IT THAT I FIND CAPSLOCK USEFUL FOR CONVINCING ME TO WAKE UP, THAT CAN’T BE NORMAL.

Fresh gingerbread for breakfast
Because I needed to use up an egg and some oil and woke up too early and Windows still hasn’t gotten back to me about my hacked email (24 hours my ass). But it’s snowing and I’m tired and am not going out to the fucking store just for a lemon… BITCH BITCH MOAN COMPLAIN GOD I MUST BE...

‘Cause I took a shower around 6 last night and was all, eh, I’ll be in bed in a few hours, I don’t need deodorant, and I am emphatically not someone who can go for over 12 hours without stinking, even if I am doing nothing but lying in bed wearing pajamas and typing. This isn’t, oh, someone will think I smell! but rather, EW, what is that stench, oh fuck, it’s me. ...

Someone just started singing a falsetto...
I can’t tell which apartment this is coming from. In a number of cases, it would annoy me, but if it’s hot neighbor or a few others, I might find it amusing. Basically, I’ll only accept it coming from the mouth of a man if he is queer, because no straight man should sing Betty Buckley anything.

wtfhellokitty: bluebears: Hahahahahaha. Whoops!  Listen, I’m sure it’s just a mistake. After all you can’t expect a Supreme Court Justice and Yale Law graduate to understand income tax law.  The story has been building.  First got wind of it during the Ginny Phonecallgate.  Just waited patiently until it would blow wide open. I am the land of failure to complete
All these projects, and I want to complete them, and things (MOSTLY THE COMPUTER/INTERNET) keep preventing me! My tumblr rainbow? Just a few that I particularly recommend, with some notes about content and target audience: The Rest Is Noise, Alex Ross; one of the best music books I’ve ever read, by the New Yorker’s music critic, about 20th century classical music in the context of the wider historical scope. No serious musical knowledge needed; a fucking masterpiece, required reading. The Joy of Music,...

Do not be alarmed if I disappear
My internet is being fuzzy :) But I love you anyway. No, I still haven’t gotten enough sleep. Nor have I received a Rx for sleeping pills yet. Nor has my upstairs neighbor stopped dancing on squeaky floorboards in high-heeled boots. But I made spinach and butternut lasagne, and my student brought me kimchee-cheese quesadillas for dinner!
